Petri is a forester by profession, he studied forest products marketing at the University of Helsinki.

Throughout his education he took numerous short term jobs in consulting, mechanical and chemical forest industry and eventually became a promoter of wood.

Hence started a long career in Finnish wood promoting organizations such as Puuinfo & Wood Focus and also at the Finnish Forest Industries Federation.

Recently, till the end of 2023, he worked as the director of the national wood building program at the Ministry of the Environment in Finland for seven years and was also the initiator of the European Wood Policy Platform - woodPoP!

His ongoing dialogues and conversations with European, Finnish and Global building and wood sector, through his business as well as his social life has enabled him to understand and firmly grasp the realities and possibilities of wood in the building sector.
